I. PURPOSE
To give television anchormen and leading radio talk
show personalities an opportunity to meet the President
and Mrs. Nixon and to hear the President following
afternoon briefings on foreign and domestic policy
by key Administration officials.
II. BACKGROUND, PARTICIPANTS AND PRESS PLAN
A. Background: The President's original suggestion that
he host a briefing session and reception for TV
anchormen was recently expanded to include leading
radio talk show personalities. On behalf of the
President, Herb Klein and Ron Ziegler have invited
approximately 100 anchormen and talk show personali-
ties (primarily from the target states) and their
wives to participate in:
1. Briefings by Dr. Henry Kissinger, Secretary
Peter Peterson, Special Assistant Attorney
General Myles Ambrose and John Ehrlichman
from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the new OEOB
briefing room.
2. A reception hosted by the President and Mrs.
Nixon at 5:00 p.m.
