THE PRESIDENT HAS SEEN def THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON DEPARTURE CEREMONY FOR MIDEAST TRIP Monday - June 10, 1974 The South Grounds 8:30 A.M. From: Stephen Bull BACKGROUND: A relatively informal Departure Ceremony has been planned for the South Grounds, Monday morning, just before you and Mrs. Nixon board the helicopter. The purpose of this activity is to permit you to make brief remarks as you leave the United States. In attendance will be Ambassadors or representatives from the Embassies of the countries you will be visiting, plus the Portu- guese Ambassador (the Azores being under the Portuguese flag), the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Members of the Cabinet who will be in town, the Vice President, and members of the White House Staff. It is expected that Tricia and Julia will be present. Your participation will be to shake hands with the Ambassadors, Cabinet, and the Vice President, deliver brief remarks to the Press and White House staff, and then proceed to the helicopter accompanied by your daughters for the departure. SEQUENCE: 8:30 a.m. You and Mrs. Nixon and Tricia and Julie emerge from the South Portico of the White House. You and Mrs. Nixon shake hands with the principal attendees
