5:15 P. M.
BACKGROUND:
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ash are giving a party in honor of you and Mrs. Nixon
and senior Members of the White House Staff who are here in San Clemente.
It is expected that there will be approximately 125 people present, most of
whom you know and can be categorized as permanent members of the
California community. (Guest list attached at TAB A) Tricia and Ed have
been invited and are expected to attend.
The guests have been invited to the Ash residence at 5:00 p.m. and will be
gathered beneath the canopy in the side yard, having cocktails. It is expected
that all the guests will be present by 5:30 p.m. You and the First Family
will arrive at 6:00 p.m. and there will be a receiving line, an informal
social period immediately thereafter, and then you will move into dinner.
Following dinner there will be brief remarks by you and Mr. Ash, after
which you and the First Family will depart.
SEQUENCE
5:15 p.m.
You and Mrs. Nixon and Tricia and Ed depart
Western White House by helicopter en route Santa
Monica airport.
(Flying Time: 35 minutes)
5:50 p.m.
Arrive Santa Monica Airport, board motorcade,
and depart en route Ash residence.
6:00 p.m.
Arrive Ash residence where you will be greeted by
Mr. and Mrs. Ash and escorted into the house.
