The major news stories of an RN-dominated night on the networks:
2 nets led with major concession won by WH as Hill Conference
votes to defer checkoff provision until '73. Bitter reaction from
HHH, Muskie and O'Brien. They were together to sign voluntary
limitation on primary expenditures
ABC's Bill Lawrence indi-
cated WH position that RN has always opposed public funding for
campaigns isn't true as RN endorsed a '62 report calling for tax
credits.
RN at Aging Conference -- remarks on HR 1 and lowering of
property taxes featured along with stand on checkoff.
Film on 2 nets of RN swearing-in Butz who was just barely con-
firmed in closer than expected vote.
Silent clip on 2 nets as RN met Golda Meir and promised US help
in modernizing Israeli forces. Session seen to ease US-Israeli
tensions.

India-Pakistani conflict deepens -- NBC lead report on W. Pakistani
atrocities with film similar to ABC Tues. and CBS Wed.

in registering; Jackson won't run in "Muskie Country" -- NH;
McCarthy on CBS film -- still hasn't found the old magic; DNC
is bankrupt was focus of NBC report which only took up lack of
funds -- perhaps bankruptcy of ideas will come later.
