(ABC lead.) Film on all nets of the heroes' funeral given the Arab terrorists in Libya. - McG w/help from EMK "added star power, 11 Reynolds called it - - seems finally to have his floundering campaign underway, led Cronkite as CBS reported the "public healing of wounds. 11 CBS found most Cook Co. regulars ready to go w/the Mayor for McG but in Wisconsin's strongly Dem 4th District, ABC featured McG's serious blue collar problems NBC reported the huge Chicago rally was so big and enthusiastic it was a first for the McG campaign. - Note by all of HAK's France/Britain stops and new speculation of session w/Tho NBC led w/reports on Quang Tri and bombing raids - - lengthy Swedish film of destruction. Critical Sevareid commentary on WH's belated explanation that RN never had a (secret) plan to end war. - Auto price hearings on 2 nets w/ABC saying Commission members feel they become "politicized. 11 - Senate has passed Revenue Sharing - - last debates featured by CBS (ABC noted) w/film of Gaylord Nelson rapping program as deceptive to public which doesn't realize deficits will pay for the largesse If conferees agree on bill soon, 1st payments could go out in Oct. - Judge Richey holds up civil case for 8 days and hints it could be thrown out on a technicality -- noted by all nets. - All nets noted and CBS film on the Attica report which puts more of the blame on the authorities than on the rioting inmates for last year's tragedy.
