while ABC in its lead said agreement "took steps to accelerate
normalization of relations. 11 W/#2 story, Chancellor said this
was "day of historical importance, 11 adding liaison offices "almost
amount to diplomatic relations. Sevareid, in fairly positive
commentary, said offices would be diplomatic ones w/out
calling it that
HAK on ABC/NBC described reasons for
establishing offices and their functions, while on CBS he denied
action was against any other country

(5-7 mins. ) on all nets, as Israeli spokesinen maintained it only
meant to force landing of plane when it didn't obey its orders, and
Egyptian officials insisted Israel must bear full responsibility.
CBS/NBC reported alleged tape of pilot's voice said he was having
trouble w/heading and the compass, and then added plane was being
shot
