AM. Graham reported focus will then shift to 5 PM deadline on Jaworski subpoena, w/Jaworski already prepared to call Tues. G-J session to approving issuing of "show-cause" order in event of WH non-compliance. Sat. NBC led w/LA Times report RN will turn 42 tapes over to Judiciary under pressure from Hill GOPs who told St. Clair impchmnt's certain if RN defies Comm. NBC/CBS noted RZ denied report saying no decision's been made. But NBC reported RN is likely to be affected by Hill GOP attitudes as word was passed to an "unbelieving JSC that RN's in "deep trouble. 11 CBS led Sat. w/another LA Times story: that Mar. 21 tapes is "explosive" and "not ambiguous" re: RN-Dean discussion of hush money. Times' unnamed sources, CBS noted, say there could only be 1 logical interpretation - that RN didn't disapprove hush money. NBC noted RN "in stronger language" criticized report. CBS/NBC noted RZ blamed Judiciary for leak. As Pierpoint put it, RZ, "having set up this straw man said if Judiciary doesn't stop leaking, RN will stop cooperating" w/Comm. (also noted by NBC.) WH denials of LA Times reports and related stories were p. 1. in 6 of 8 papers seen and #1 in Star, News.
