that he'd told G-J that HRH authorized expenditures from secret fund
in Stans' office. "They considered resigning
because of their
mistake. Sloan told the reporters he'd never been asked about HRH
in G-J session. 11 After that, the reporters say, there were "no new
breaks, no more big stories and Post's rep suffered. Bradlee
"pressed" them to "come up w/ something fresh.
