Dear Dick:
I don't know whether or not Ithiel de Sola Pool has gotten in
touch with you yet. But at this end, I've been checking very
carefully. The more I look into it, the more I'm convinced
that he's been wronged. His record is clean right down the
line--anti-Stalinist all the way.
On his parents, the story is a little different. They are
not Party members but they've got some bad party front
affiliations and have been pretty involved. If this means
that Ithiel is marked lousy, I don't know what can be
done. I do know that he sees them practically never--they're
in New York and he in California.
At any rate, if he comes for help, I'd appreciate it if you
gave him an understnading hearing.
