Dear Mr. Curry:
On December 11, 1987, the White House agreed to declassify
over 30,000 pages of material by January 31, 1988, for the
House Select Committee to Investigate Covert Arms
Transactions with Iran. This agreement, although burdensome,
was necessary to effect an acceptable resolution of several
outstanding procedural issues of importance to the
intelligence community. We succeeded in this monumental
declassification task through the efforts of you and your
colleagues on the Inter-Agency Review Committee.
I am enclosing for you a token of our appreciation for the
dedication and professionalism you demonstrated in
accomplishing this major undertaking.
Thank you for your help.

As you know, we have had a White House Inter-Agency Review
Committee helping the Iran/Contra Task Force declassify
approximately 30,000 pages of documents which were requested
by the House Select Committee to Investigate Covert Arms
Transactions with Iran. This was a mammoth task which was
accomplished by these individuals putting in very long hours
and every weekend in January. This group was made up of
individuals from ten departments and agencies, and we would
like to give them a token of appreciation. Would it be
possible to get 17 charms and 23 tie clips for them?
