Sherriffs Today is the first day of the Board of Governors' regular meeting. Between 9:30 a.m. and your arrival shortly after noon, they will have discussed in committee three areas which may be on their minds: 1) Funding of Vocational Education Classes in Community Colleges A contractual agreement between the Board of Governors and the State Board of Education for administering federal funds. Presently, all federal funds are approved by the State Board of Education. 2) Finance and Residency Community colleges are concerned over the fiscal effects due to the lowering of the age of majority. (Finance is working with them on this.) 3) Student Financial Aid The Chancellor's Office will be discussing providing statewide service for student financial aid in the community colleges. The luncheon is to be informal, as always. You have no agenda but goodwill. I would get across my continued concern for career education. Brossman claims sixty percent of students are in such programs. You might request a report, out of interest, if he says so. ACS:sd CC: Ed Meese MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS: Mr. Roy T.
