This guide to the Organization of the Executive Branch
of California State Government is designed to provide
a picture of the components, functions, and reporting
relationships within State government.
This publication is widely distributed within State
government. It is also provided to other public and
private groups, and to individuals upon request.
Since the first edition of this guide was published
in February 1964, we have received many valuable
suggestions for revision and improvement of the listing.
If omissions or errors are noted in this edition, please
let us know so that necessary corrections can be made
in the next revision.
