INTELLIGENCE CONFIDENTIAL NSC/ICS-400020 90036 THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON CONFIDENTIAL NATIONAL SECURITY DECISION DIRECTIVE NUMBER 22 January 29, 1982 DESIGNATION OF INTELLIGENCE OFFICIALS AUTHORIZED TO REQUEST FBI COLLECTION OF FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE In order to implement Section 1.14(c) of Executive Order 12333, I hereby designate the Director of Central Intelligence (or the Acting Director of Central Intelligence) as officials authorized to request the FBI to collect foreign intelligence or support foreign intelligence require- ments of other agencies within the Intelligence Community. The heads of Intelligence Community agencies are authorized to request the FBI to perform activities preparatory to or otherwise in support of such DCI requests, to conduct surveys and studies, to engage in testing and training activities, or to modify collection techniques which are employed.
