Dr. S. A. Sochocky,
565 Central Av.,
East Orange,
N.J.
Dear Doc:-
Dr. Hess mentioned last week that you had offered to complete
some work started with him and sked me what his position should be.
I
replied that we nost naturally would appreciate the benefit of your co-
operation. Dr. Hess mentioned sone work thit you and he bad done together
and eaid that if this was published, he would want to have it published
under both of your names, and asked whether I thought you would object.
I told him that I folt sure that you would not object to this and that it
was the only correct way to publish such work.
Dr. Hess has gone to Boston and will be away until Thursday -
perhaps Friday.
Mr. Bilstein has not yet returned from his vacation and I was
dieappointed to receive a report that it le likely that he will want to
leave the company on his return, although I hope this report ie not reliable.
Will you use your beat influence with him to remain and aesist us over the
present difficulty, which you understand is very hard ?
You must take care of your health and ought to rest thoroughly.
I do not know what the figures in your letter of the 3rd mean medically, but
know that they are not good. If I can be of any assistance to you, I hope
you will call on me.
Yours truly,
AR/HM
