October 17,1925.
Dr. Frederick N. Flinn,
437 West 59th St. $
New York City.
Dear Doctor Flinn:
Replying to your letter of October 14th, I am much interested
in your remarks and experiments.
Replying directly to your question as to whether or not continuous
exposure to such a small quantity or mesothorium or radium as would be contained in
five milligrams of luminous paint would be harmful. I would say that it seems to
me unlikely that serious effects either local or constitutional would be produced.
I would suggest that you write to Dr. C. H. Viol, in care of the
Radium Chemical Company, Pittsburgh, Pa. who, I believe, would be able to give you
authentic information on this point.
With best wishes, I am
Yours very truly,
(signed) Frank E. Simpson
