Subject
For
Attention of Mr. Roeder.
Answering Memo. of
Dear Mr. Roeder:
Dr. reitter was in to see me the other day and he seemed a little
disturbed over the fact that we are not ready to turn over to
him the findings in the Leman case.
It rather seems to me that he is entitled to the results of this
examination, and I have therefore prepared a summary giving the
final results without giving too much detail. As far as the
report itself is concerned, I hardly feel that he is entitled to
it or the use of it in preparing his final report. Part of this
work is entirely original with me and I can see no reason why it
should be turned over to him, to appear, at some future date,
under his name or even a joint authorship. I am perfectly
willing that he should have the final results, but feel that
when the time comes I should have the privilege of publishing the
work I have done under my name alone. I am substantiated in this
view by Dr. Schlundt, and he ventures to remark in a recent
communication to me, that he thinks the report well worthy of
publication in its present form. Please understand, that I
have no idea of publishing at this time, but would like to when
the proper time comes.
I am attching a copy of the original report, as well a.s the
summary which I have prepared for Dr. Reitter. My report I would
like rerurned, the copy of the one prepared for Dr. Reitter you
may keep.
Very truly yours,
H. H. Barker.
