Dear Mr. McGlynn,
I have your letter of the 23rd inst. enclosing
copy of letter addressed to you by George T. Kenney, District
Claim Manager of the American Mutual Liability Insurance Com-
pany.
The fact that the Insurance Company is attempting
to repudiate obligations which it unquestionably assumed is
very surprising to me.
I note Mr. Kenney's statement that Dr. Flinn was
not employed by the company. I trust that you will set him
right on this point. You doubtless recall the fact that
Mr. Roeder discussed with you the advisability of employing
Dr. Flinn and that you told him to proceed. You were also
entirely familiar with the progress of his work from time to
time.
I understand that you never have had any doubt as
to the liability of the Insurance Company to make this pay-
ment and have been relying on the assurances contained in
your letter of January 2lst. Will you not kindly make a
further effort to induce your client to perform the obliga-
tions which it assumed.
