Dear Sir: We hand you herewith our check No. 399 in the amount of $10,500. which represents our portion of the amount re- quired to settle all claims against us arising out of the in- juries to or the death of Margaret Carlough, Hazel Kuzer and Sarah T. Mallifer. We understand that the total amount in- volved in the settlement is $13,000., $2,500. of which is be- ing contributed by the American Mutual Liability Insurance Company. We will give the above named Insurance Company a re- lease from any further liability on its policies as applied to the persons above named when settlement of these cases has been made on the basis above outlined and proper releases re- ceived and approved by our attorney and when the Insurance Company has made payment of the following bills: Dr. Flinn, $1,653., Dr. Thompson, $250. , and charge for the investigation at the plant of the Ingersol Watch Company, Ltd., of London, $71.45. We understand, of course, that the Insurance Company will not look to us for the payment of any expenses incurred directly by it in connection with the defense of this suit. We
