МОИАЯОМАМ .D.R.S.U stad to notingttA 107 Reduce to .omeM July 12th, 1926. Dr. L. M. Boyers, First National Bank Bldg., Berkeley, California. Dear Dr. Boyers:- Enclosed herewith you will find an article entitled "Radio Active Material an Industrial Hazard?", by Dr. Frederick B. Flinn, Ph. D., Assistant Professor of Physiology in Industrial Hygione, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, which treats of the so called "radium necrosis" or radium poisoning cases. The investigation by Dr. Flinn, which formed the basis of his article, has been by far the most thorough and far reaching work undertaken on this subject. This article will appear in one of the early issues of the Journal of the American Medical Association. While it seems that the charge of "radium poisoning" caused the death of several girls (which charge was widely advertised through the press a for months ago) is entirely unfounded, we naturally hesitate - without further investigation - to make the broad statement that radium in luminous material is unharmful, although we believe this to be the case. Therefore, in order to be on the safe side, we caution you, if you have not already done so, to order your operators not to point their application brushes between their lips. Whenover we receive any further authentic information on the subject, we shall be glad to pass it along to you. Yours very truly, President. CBLEE:OB Enclosure (1).
