COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY
COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS & SURGEONS
437 W. 59th St. N.Y.
Institute of Public Health
November 17,1927.
Dr. Frederick B. Flinn.
Dear Dr. Flinn:
Wait until you have a quiet time away from the laboratory
and then read the enclosed and promise ne not to take either of the
letters amiss.
The confusion in the mind of Dr. Hamilton would be
shared by any one looking at the record from the outside.
The appearance to a hard boiled world is confusing, as it
was to you to have that fatal case turn up just after the negative
report was first published.
Your apparently dual role in the industry and in the cases
of the workers is also unusual.
Dr. Hamilton is to sincere and too much of a friend for
me to resent even what appears to be curiosity and intrusion in your
private and professional matter.
I wish we could have a chat about it before I go but
since that is impossible you will in any event do what seems indicated
in answering or seeing Dr. Hamilton.
Sincerel y yours,
(signed) Haven Emerson, M.D.
