Dr. Herbert N. McCoy, Vice President,
Lindsay Light Company,
161 E. Grand Ave
$
Chicago, Ill.
Dear Dr. McOoy:
I have been tied up on out of town matters,
which accounts for the delayed answer to your very interesting
letter of Jamary 10th.
We have indicated to you from time to time the
general condition of the radium industry and its relation to
mesothevium, and it is with all the various possibilities in
mind that we have undertaken to line up the situation to the
mutual advantage of all concerned. If we have misled you into
believing that we were in a position at this time to agree to
take your mesothorium in the form indicated, 2 our action has
been a little premature, as there are factors which must be
worked out with our good friends abroad before any definite
arrangement can be consumated.
It is our hope that the problem may be solved in
a manner that will dive the Lindsay Light an opportunity to
dispose of its mesothorium regularly as produced, and that we
may be the principal factors in this arrangement. According
to
present information it will probably be March or April before a
definite decision can be reached, and in the meantime we do not
bolieve you are running any great risk in bringing your mesothor-
ivm production to a point where it could be readily handled in
a crystalization plant.
According to present plans I expect to be in
Chicago for a few days around the middle of February and shall
make it a point to write you in advance so thot this matter may
be discussed more fully.
There are several angles which must
be handled with care if the program which we have in mind is
to be successfully worked out.
Extending to you our best wishes, we are
Vory truly yours,
CBLee:
President.
