March 23nd, 1928.
Dr. Herbert M. McCoy,
Harper Plaza Hotel,
5129 Harper Ave.,
Chicago, Ill.
Dear Dr. McCoy:
We assume that you have already left for
California by this, and that this letter will be forwarded to
you.
The Vice Chencellor, a day or so ago, postponed
the trial of our cases from April 2nd until April 25th, and of
course we do not know whether he will give them another post-
ponment or not. At any rate we suggest that you go ahead with
your plans without regard to the cases in question.
It may be that we shall not call on you for the
hearing on the 25th, which is more or less of a preliminary hear-
ing. If we fail to win out at this hearing it means that the
cases will be thrown back to the Supreme Court for trial, and
it will probably be several months before it can be reached on
the calandar. We could then have you come on from California.
Trusting that both you and Mrs. McCoy have
enjoyed your trip so far, and will continue to do so until you
reach the land of "perpetual sunshine".
Very truly yours,
President.
