Dr. Frederick B. Flinn,
Columbia University,
College of Physicians and Surgeons,
437 West 59th St.,
N.Y.C.
Dear Dr. Flinn:
This will acknowledge your letter received on
May 29th, outlining some of your ideas as to a defense in our
law suits.
Your suggestions are good, but as you realize
cannot be put into practice at this time, even though there may
be occasion to at some future date.
I have requested both Mr. Smith and Mr. Markley
to return to us all reprints, and we in due course will return
same to you. We have also asked that Dr. Rector return to you
the autopsy report on the Dunn case.
Personally I feel that the gamma ray tests are
fully as sensitive, if not more sensitive than the tests used
by the oposition in this case, especially in view of their
technique. It seems to me as though it is important that we
should go on record as to our belief regarding the sensitiveness
of our tests, and in this connection I am writing to Dr. Schlundt,
suggesting that the work that he assisted in during his presence
in New York, be put into form for publication. It is quite
possible that Dr. Schlundt will have several ideas relative to the
amplification of this report which we should of course carry out.
Out putting this information on record at this time may prove
very valuable to us at some future date - I will discuss this
further with you in the near future.
I trust that you will find time to proceed with
the investigation of our employees now that the suits are off our
hands. We are anxious to have this matter taken up as soon as
convenient.
Mr. Lee and I wish to have luncheon with you at
an early date, and will call you on the 'phone.
Sincerely you
HHBarker:RH
Vice Presid
