July 20,1928. Dr. Herman Schlundt, University of Missouri, Dept. of Chemistry, Columbia, No. Dear Dr. Schlundt: I am herewith sending you a letter addrossed to you from Arthor H. Thomas Company, which you enclosed in a recent communication to Dr. Flinn. We are unable to understand why this letter was forwarded to us, as you made no comments in the text of your letter. In the event that you desire to have us order this equipment, please be advised that Dr. Flinn has a supply of the items mentioned, and they will be available for us when you are here. In the event that you wish anything special along this line please advise inmediately and I will endeavor to comply with your wishes. Adverse publicity is becoming quite common again, and it is dafficult to tell what the outcome of this entire situation is going to be. This malces it very important that the work contemplated be carried out and put into record at the earliest possible date. There is a great deal of constructive work to be done in this field, and I am in hopes that you have become sufficient- ly interested to become a factor in the field. My plans for vacation are very indefflite. I expect to drive up to Lake George on July 28th, and from there will go to Lake Champlain, Quebec, Montreal and then to Toronto. In case I find a desirable place around Toronto in the Lake region I may stay there for a week or so to rest up. I will undoubtedly be back in N.Y. some time during the middle of latter part of the week of August 12th, and should you desire to reach me I would suggest your communicating with our office. With kind regards, I remain Sincerely yours, HHBarker:RI Vice President.
