Gentlemen:
Replying to the letter of the 10th inst. of
H. H. Barker addressed to all interested parties, please be ad-
vised that I will be unable to attend the conference at two
o'clock on December 16th at Mr. Emory's office because of a prior
engagement peremptory in character to appear before the State
Highway Commission on behalf of the Aetna Life Insurance Company
in a very importent bond matter in which Mr. William H. Jenkins
of the Aetna is interested. That hearing is set for 11:00 A. M.
at Trenton. If the Trenton matter should be disposed of so that
I can get the 12:45 train back from Trenton, I will attend the
conference, otherwise it will be impossible.
So that my views may be known, I wish to state,
first, that the Daxer case should be settled if it can be settled
for a sum not exceeding $8000.
The Stasi case is undoubtedly a radium case
and can probably be settled on the basis of the other radium
cases for a sum not exceeding 8000. It should be settled if it
can be settled on that basis. The Tuck case also can be settled
for $8000. and I strongly recommend settlement of that case on
that basis.
Yours very truly,
EAM: AG
