Barker, United States Radium Corp. New York City, N.Y. DEC 16 1930 Dear Mr. Barker: Will you send me several copies of the article by you and Dr. Schlundt which recently appeared in the American Journal of Roentgenology and Radium Therapy. It may interest you to know that I examined some people for the Federal Trade Commission and found two out of three to be radio-active. Referring to a remark in your paper concerning calcium metabolism I might say that in eliminating metals from the body you do not get a corresponding elimination of calcium. What seems to effect calcium metabolism also affect the metals. The parathormone is used in lead poisoning cases where it acts similarly to the manner that it does with radium. Just now I am trying a n easier method and am sending some figures to Dr. Schlundt for his comments. Yours sincerely Frudin h B.V.h.m
