December 27,1930. Dr. Herman Schlundt, University of Missouri, Columbia, Mo. Dear Dr. Schlundt: The following is a copy of a telegram which was sent to you this morning: "COUNSEL HAVE AGREED TO EXAMINATION MRS METZ THO P M FRIDAY JANUARY SECOND FLINN'S LABORATORY STOP NOT ADVISABLE TO AGAIN CHANGE PLANS STOP YOU CAN TAKE MIDNIGHT TRAIN TO WASHINGTON AND BE THERE MORNING OF THIRD IF TESTS GO WELL ADVISE TORONTO ADDRESS IF YOU ATTEND WEETING THERE" I discussed the matter of advencing the daté of this examination with Mr. Markley, and he was strongly averse to taking the matter up again with l'es. Let's counsel, inaelluch as they don't cooperate on these matters any too well. However, if you arrive in New York either late on January lst, or early on the morning of the 2nd, you will be able to devote several hours putting the instruments in shape and should be ready to proceed with the tests upon lis. Mets's arrival at two o'clock. Barring any unforseen accidents your work should be complete in the matter of three or four hours, and you could then catch the mid- night train to Washington. The way these various meetings are working around it seems to me that thésematterscan all be taken care of with a minimum of effort - you can attend to your meeting in Toronto, be in New York on the 2nd, Washington on the 3rd and back in New York on the 5th. I trust that you will keep me posted as to y ur various addresses. S incerely yours, heBarker:Ril Vice President.
