UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI
COLUMBIA
DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
MAR 1 1034
March 15, 1934
Mr. H. H. Barker
U. S. Radium Corporation
535 Pearl Street
New York City
My dear Barker,
In reply to your inquiry about being available
for the trial which is set for about June 4th let
me say that our university closes about that time
and I suppose that we could arrange to get off even
though the commencement exercises were in progress.
There are, however, always a number of alumnae who
return at this time and it is a rather pleasant time.
Mowever, I shall do my best to be on hand for the
hearing.
We hope though that you will furnish us in ad-
vance with a set of questions or topics which would
be prepared by your attorneys for answering at the
hearing.
We are in full accord with the idea that the
dangers of radium poisoning were not recognized at
the time the patients contracted the disease.
I hope that Dr. Lind will be available although
the University of Minnesota does not open its summer
session until some time later in June.
At all events I hope that you will be kind enough
to give us an outline of the chief points that will
probably come up for discussion at the hearing, and
then we can tell definitely whether our presence and
testimony would be of service to you.
With very kind regards, I remain,
Sincerely yours,
Herman Schlundt
