March 16, 1934. Dr. Hermen Schlundt, Room 110 New Chemistry Bldg., Columbia, Missouri. Dear Dr. Schlundt: I had hoped to have E reply rolative to my letter pertaining to the LaPorte case which is to go to trial on June 4th, 1934. We are advised by the Judge who is to sit in this case that he proposes to start hearings on June 4th and continuo then until they have been com pleted, regardless of the time required. It is the joint belief of the plaintiff's counsel as well as ours, that it will require approximately one week to put in this case, and Mr. Markley and Mr. Smith feel that it will be highly desirable for you to be available in New York on or about June 5th. We have word from Dr. bind to the effect that it will be possible for him to be present at that time, and hope that you can also 80 arrange your schedule. of course there is always the possibility of something unforeseen developing which will postpone the case, but regardless of this possibility, we will have to proceed with definite plans for trial. Ne shall await your ansuer with interest. Sincerely yours, HRBarker:DK Vice-President
