Dear Mr. Smith:
Replying to your letter of the 25th in the above,
please be advised that it was through inadvertence that my
memo of the 24th was put in the form of a letter rather than
in the form of a memorandum. It was, however, the result of
our conferences, that is, the onferences between you, Mr.
Barker and myself and of course represents the joint work of
all three.
There was no intention upon my part to detract
fr om your work in the matter, which was at least equal to
and undoubtedly greater than mine. I am perfectly willing
to divide the labor and the conduct of the trial in any way
you desire I am sending a copy of this letter to Mr. Barker
and join with you in your request that we each be supplied
with the same material.
