Dr. Herman Schlundt,
New Chemistry Room 110,
Columbia University
Columbia, Missouri
Dear Dr. Schlundt:
I wag certainly shocked to read in the Mew
York Sun last night of the suiden death of Dr. Dover. The
notice did not give the details but I assume that her death
was a result of the operation which you apoke of when you
were here.
I feel that the desth of Dr. Dover is e distinct
loss to the Depertment and I an sure that you will personally
feel it quite keenly. I surcly hope thet the additional bur-
don that will be placed upon your shoulders will not overtax
your strength. Rather than taking os additional daties, the
service which you have rendered to the University is such
that your prescribed daties should be materially lessened.
Please consider this en expression of sorrow
which I realize you and your department feel in the loss of
Dr. Dover. With kind regards, I au
Sincerely yours,
HHBarkersH
