My dear Barker,
I simply wish to advise you that it will be impossible
for me to appear in the La Porte case on December 6th, 7th,
8th and 9th. I hope the judge will not select the week of
December 3rd as the beginning of the trial.
I have had a very busy week out of town inspecting
junior colleges, and find considerable work awaiting me here.
