UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI COLUMBIA DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY November 22, 1934 NOV 26 1934 Mr. H. H. Barker U. S. Radium Corporation 535 Pearl Street New York, New York My dear Barker, I have not as yet determined whether to arrive at Newark on the 2nd or the 3rd, but I shall try to be there some time during Monday, the 3rd, and I hope that we can have a confer- ence at which we can go into detail about the proposed testi- mony. About the Handbook of Radium Therapy by Lazurus, I find that we do not have a copy of this in the University. If we had the book, I should be very glad to bring it with me. I shall try to get the book on a loan through our library from some other institution, and I trust that there will be enough time to secure a copy from the University of Illinois. Secondly, with regard to the work of Stroltzner and Lehnertz about 1908-1909, I shall look these authors up in my list of references obtained from chemical abstracts. I know this much, that the various abstracts on the radioactivity of waters and on radioactive substances prior to 1908-1909 do not indicate that there are any dangers from the use of them, but in some cases the references are rather brief. I shall probably appear at the Robert Treat Hotel, Newark, N. J., some time on Monday, December 3rd. Sincerely yours, Herman Schlundt Herman Schlundt hs:ik P. S. I thank you for your invitation to spend the evening of Sunday, December 2nd, at your home.
