Dr. S. C. Lind,
University of Minnesota,
Minneapolis, Minn.
Dear Dr. Lind:
With reference to your letter of November 22nd, we are pleased
to say that so far we have been purchasing radium at $25.00 per milli-
gram. This of course has been in at least half gram lots.
We have no definite information regarding an agreement between
the Belgian and Canadian Companies but have heard rumors that such is
the case. We have also been informed that the present price of radium
is $27.50 per milligram, and it may be that we will be obliged to pay
this price when next in the market.
Since the recent Specification on both the Army and Navy Depart-
ments were issued, we have re-established prices of our various grades
"UNDARK" somewhat lower than those previously prevailing. So far as
this Company is concerned, it is our hope that there will be no increase
on luminous material itself, but so far as treated dials are concerned,
it will be rather difficult to escape some modest increase due to the
various hour, wage, regulations, etc.
There are a lot of angles to this radium question, and we hope that
next time you are in New York we will have the opportunity of discussing
them with you.
Extending the Season's Greetings, we are,
Cordially yours,
CBLee:DK
President
