Mr. C.W. Wallhausen
United States Radium Corp.
535 Pearl St.
New York City, N.Y.
Dear Mr. Wallhausen:
I am rather puzzled about the
radioactivity that is being found in some of the
girls which are just starting to work with radium.
I have cleaned the flasks with
acid and yet the last test by Dr. Hess shows that
the activity is high. On the other hand I cannot
help but feel that the flasks are alright because
the room air and some of the girls are negative.
We are rather short on flasks
because there are times that Dr. Hess cannot always
get the flasks back to the laboratory in time to
clean them. At the present time we only have
seven flasks on hand as three or four have been
broken in transit.
I would suggest that you order
six or eight new ones so that we can watch and see
what happens to them.
Cordially yours,
Findenik B. Thin
