Sylvia has a series of letters re: increasing funding to $5.2 million for
direct grants from the National Park Service Historic Preservation Fund to
tribal historic preservation offices. FY1999 and FY2000 enacted levels
were $2.6 million -- and currently, the FY2001 request keeps funding at
$2.6 million. Our folks at OMB feel comfortable straightlining the
funding, as their sense is that there are many other issues of greater
importance re: to Indian country which are being addressed in the budget.
I just wanted to double-check that the two of you concur w/ our folks'
