PURPOSE: To commemorate the 8th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, to further the President's commitment to the Executive Order signed March 13, 1998 creating the Task Force and to highlight the importance of increasing the employment rate of adults with disabilities. BACKGROUND: The Presidential Task Force will submit to the President a formal five month progress report on all relevant activities currently underway mandated by the President's Executive Order. The President will accept document and sign the Presidential Directives that will improve the federal government's efforts to increase the employment rate of adults with disabilities, thus further illustrating his sincere commitment to the mission of the Task Force.
