ChildrensHospitalLosAngeles Foundation 21 April, 1998 Hillary Rodham Clinton c/o James T. Fuller "It Takes a Village" 725 Twelfth St., N.W. Washington, DC 20005-5901 Dear Mrs. Clinton; As one of the top five pediatric facilities in the United States, and the number one facility in the West*, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is proud to be the only pediatric medical center in the Southland affiliated with the Children's Miracle Network (CMN). I know my father, Joe Lake, is excited about the opportunity to once again bring Champions Across America to the White House. And Daniella Fortuna is playingan active role in our local CMN broadcast. She's the best!! And thinks the world of you!! We need your help! Several of our CMN affiliated sponsors will be conducting fund raising events during the next several months which will benefit Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. One hundred percent of all funds raised for CMN in Los Angeles, Ventura, Riverside, Orange and San Bernadino counties are donated to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles! Included in these events are several auctions. I was hoping you could donate one or more of the following items to this cause. Each item will be recognized in event-related publicity pieces: signed copies of "It Takes a Village" dinner in L.A. with you and a guest Each year, nearly 200,000 children come to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles for medical help and more than half of these children are under three years old. How fortunate we are to have the world leader for advanced pediatric care, research & physician education right here in our own backyard. The cost is high for new treatments and therapies for children, gentle and effective medicines, life-sustaining equipment for small bodies, special training for doctors and nurses, and the one-on-one care children need. These auctions held by friends of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles go a long way in helping provide these necessary treatments. Thank you in advance for your support. Please contact me should you need additional information. My direct line is (213) 669-5976. On behalf of our young patients, thanks for being our CHAMPION!
