- Is the first lady subject to privilege? The White House argued during the
health-care debacle that Mrs. Clinton was not a "special government employee,"
but was just an outsider with superhuman endowments of civic virtue.
But a
use privilege to shield someone who doesn't work for him, so the White
House must have reversed itself and declared Mrs. Clinton a bona fide official.
But that's against the law. The "Kennedy rule," drafted after Robert Kennedy
served as his brother's attorney general, prohibits presidents from hiring
relatives in top positions.

law firm billing records, lawyers said Thursday.
The records have fewer handwritten notations and fewer pages

about Mrs. Clinton from one set of billing records, question you about it, then
they pick up the other set and read other entries about

Prosecutors are trying to determine whether Hillary Clinton, while a private
Arkansas attorney, assisted a series of fraudulent S&L land transactions in the

Foster and former Associate Attorney General Webster Hubbell were partners
with Hillary Clinton at the Rose Law Firm in Little Rock. They directed the firm
to print the billing records in 1992 when questions

questions about Whitewater.
Prosecutors said a year ago that Hillary Clinton could be indicted and
alleged that her account to investigators had changed over time. Among the
questions being pursued is whether she was involved in the disappearance of the

18 cement block houses. Today, there are 103, with 45 more planned and another

The Clintons began their tour by visiting the house of Veliswa Mbeki. It was

information about a failed land deal on which Hillary Rodham Clinton worked in
the 1980s, lawyers familiar with the matter said Friday.
Mr. Tucker, who resigned in 1996 after his conviction in a separate
Whitewater case, has information that would be useful to prosecutors who are
investigating Mrs. Clinton's work while at the Rose Law Firm on a real estate
development south of Little Rock called
in-law, Little Rock businessman Seth Ward, said the individuals, speaking
on condition of anonymity. Mr. Ward and: Mrs. Clinton's Whitewater partner, Jim
McDougal, owned Castle Grande which failed at a cost to taxpayers of nearly $
4 million.
The development was financed almost entirely with loans from Mr. McDougal's
savings and loan. Mr. Hubbell was Mrs. Clinton's law partner at the time.
The first lady has said in sworn statements she recalls almost nothing about.
