Let's take a trip, says Tiny Tot, "with Peary to the Pole, [1913] And we'll see a polar-beryl when the ship begins to roll." So the Tiny Tads get ready and they all put out to sea Aboard the good wild-Roosevelt, just as happy as can be. They sail 'way up in Bering Sea before they run amuck of an old ice-burgomaster, and then they find they're stuck. "You must go back", he cries to them, "this is no place for you- In the land of Eskimosquitoes there is nothing you can do." "Oh please," cry out the Tiny Tads, "don't be so awfully cross! Don't be a lemon-ice berg, even if you are the boss; Just let us land and we will go most anywhere you say- There are lots of taxicabins which will take us on our way." So they steered for good St. Michael and were landed on the ice, Where a big dog-teamster met them, and they thought him very nice. "Where to, my little ones?" he asked, as soon as he did see 'em, "To get some bread and butter-schtch, and a cup of hot Te Deum? The hot tiara-boom-de-a is also rather nice-" "But we are all teetotalers," they answered in a trice. So he wrapped them up all good and warm and took them to a house Where each one got a flower bed and slept just like a mouse. In the morning little Tiny Tot had caught a horrid cold- "And I've used all my quinine-pins" the Tiny Tads were told; "But in my Hugh J. Leisure time, before I get too sick, I'11 get some Klikitaricthyol,-one bottle should do the trick." "Let's go and see the show tonight" the Tads did each entreat, "You know they have Kyactors here that really can't be beat." So they found the big sea-pigloo where they went to see the show And hung their hats on a walrusty mail,-he's made for that, you know. What are those funny little things that twist and wiggle so? Why, those are young oysturtles, and they're learning how to grow- Those lanky birds you see behind, each looking for a drink, Are lonely fountain-penguins, and they're dying for some ink. "The music's not so very good" the Tiny Tads declare- "It seems as if that apple-cornet has an awful blare- In fact, it is musickening- as for that violinsect, Its soothingesurreptitious notes are not what we expect." The next day they set out again to try and reach the Pole; The ice-flotilla sailed away without a ton of coal. The Northern Lightship led the way- it knew just where to go, For it had been there many times, enlightening the snow. "Oh Mr. Prickly Peary" the Tiny Tads besought, "We want to see a damask-ox, we want to see him caught" "I cannot get you one today" said Peary in reply "There's not enough musk-oxygen, the air is far too dry." They saw the Pole, and left it there, that others too might see; And traveled back to old New York and went upon a spree. "If we get cold down here, they said "we know what we can do- Put on our Central Parky, its big enough for two."
