HUMILITY ESPECTFULLY DEDICATED TO ALL IN TROUBLE. God of Mercy ! God of Love! Look Thou down from Heaven above; Take me gently by the hand, Lead me to the better land. When the morning sun shall rise, To illumine earth and skies, Let my soul go out to Thee, Over life's tempestuous sea. Midst the tempest's thunderous roar, My poor heart would strive to sear, All my earthly shackles break, And every sinful tie forsake, Knowing that I soon mu die, Lord to Thee, my al would fly; Seeking comfort ever lay, While I tread 1/S narrow way. Heart nigh broke sick and sore, Over loved es gone before, Come dear Savur, heal and bles, Help me, / my deep distr Days have me and year ave flown, Yet, I am not left alf Though life's storms do X my soul, And the billows o'ne roll, In the depths I alwaycel, Thou art ever wime still, Guiding my weak fsteps on, Till I reach my eavenly home. Then in Heaven, hme at last, And forgettire all the past There with loved ones, safe and blest, I shall forever, be at rest. Cop/right, 1905. by HENRY T. CLAGHORN, Fluindelphia, Pas, Recorded at Stationers' Hall, LONDON
