Rev. G. W. Huddleston,
Chagrin Falle,
Ohio.
My dear Sir:
Your letter of January 24 to the Secretary of
State has been referred to the Children's Bureau for
raply.
This Bureau has, howevor, issued no publications
dealing with the subject of birth control, nor is the
subject treated in any other publication of the Federal
government, ao that wa have no pamphlets to sond you.
Thore is, in the February, 1917 number of the Journal of
Heredity (published by the American Genetic Association,
Washington, D.C.), an article by Hobert J. Sprague on
"Constructive aspect of birth control" which contains a
discussion of the arguitente both for and against birth
control. Another article on "Religion and birth control"
appeared in the October, 1916 number of this same Journal.
If you have access in your local library to the weekly
Survey you will find a number of discussions of this
subject during the past rear, particularly in the issues
for February 19, October 21, November 18 and December 9,
1916. A little pamphlet issues by the National Birth
Control League, 305 West 45th Street, Hew York City, contains
redazences to some other literature.
Very respectfully yours,
(Signed) Julia C.Lachrop
Chief.
