Before me, the undersigned, a
notary Public in and for said county and
state aforesaid, ou this 11" day of may 1874
personally Came Dr R.R. S. Hawkins aged
58 years, aud Thomas J. Forgey, aged 43
years whom I certify to be credible witnesses,
who being duly sworn, say that their ages
are as stated above, that they are residents
of Paynesville P.O. in Pike County, Missouri,
and were- well acquarited with Uilliam
Scott, late a private soldier in bo K of
the 60 Regh usbg, and with all his
family relations of nearkin orabouh the that Said
William Scott died ou the 9" day of
June 1873, at or in near Paynesville in
this mother
Pricilla Scott
said County, leaving surviving him no wife
his mother
or n child, as mother or other Known heirs nearer
motherProcilla Scott
than his father & George Scott, who still
survives and resides near Paynesville Posh
Office in said County, that
sealt the mother of Laid William Scott died
- or about the
day of
189
thatsaid William Scott was not only the
reputed Son, but always acknowledged by
said George Scott to be his legitimate child,
and was so generally known undrecognized
among the friends and acquaintances of the
