Incouriquines of complaint mach by M. on
the
the 12 November 1832 to the President of the United States,
charging that certain abuses existed or had bun prootend in the
Navy Commisioners' office and in the Ordnance office of the
War Department the Presiduct of the United State, on the 12, the
December of that year, dineted a Commition to be instituted for
the th Purpose of making inguing into the fact. Accordingly. on
the 13 of the month, the undersignic were authorized and
ugusted by the Securaty of War! in conformity with the
directions of the President to proced without delay to the
investigation of the complaint prefered by Mr Gassaway" We
were so far as it ulat. to the Ordian office, "to take
down in writing the testimony of such withing ai may be upond
to by any of the Partic. touching the complaint of Mc Garanaye
and to make a full report of the evidence takin at as early
