C., The President, White House, Dear Mr. President:- Mr. Hull has had considerable friction over a postoffice appointment in his District, and a good deal of contention over his nomination. He advises me that if he could use one of the positions that were held by the Inter- ior Department for the Committee, it would smooth matters out, and I would respectfully recommend that George B. Lincoln be appointed to one of them. At the time of my last talk with the Secre- tary, all of these appointments had been made but three, which he was to hold. Very respectfully gursobeark
