The President,
White House,
Dear Mr. President:-
Mr. Hull has had considerable
friction over a postoffice appointment in his
District, and a good deal of contention over his
nomination. He advises me that if he could use
one of the positions that were held by the Inter-
ior Department for the Committee, it would smooth
matters out, and I would respectfully recommend
that George B. Lincoln be appointed to one of
them.
At the time of my last talk with the Secre-
tary, all of these appointments had been made
but three, which he was to hold.
Very respectfully
gursobeark
