Luxich West Beach Biloxi, Mississippi My dear Mrs. Truman: The attraction of the gulf as it appears on your card with the little white schooners and the pleasure ships is certain- ly most alluring and at this time of the year, I think per- haps the pleasures to be had there would be paramount to those in the Black Hills. I should like, however, to take you to the Black Hills in August. I should like you to see the national park which the state of South Dakota has just presented and then should like to call attention to the fact that Missouri has no national park, not one acre. I should like, however, to ask you and the rest of the loyal bunch that have always been interested in the Community Wel- fare League to join me in a still hunt and open fight for a national park system for grand old Missouri. I should like to have the headquarters for the said national park on the top of Mount Lookout in Stone County and should like to have it include the big dam at the waterfall and everything that lies between including Marvel Cave and Fairy Cave as well as the Crystal Cave and all the beauty spots which are in- cluded in this particular county of Missouri. I think it would be grand, don't you? The springs of Hahatonka, which should have been used for the water system of Kansas C ity and which would have given it the distinction of having the most unique water supply of any city in the United States, might be included in the state park and I suppose the Sniders intended that it should be. The national park should be the biggest beauty spot of the Ozarks in my judgment. KRUMAN NARA
