HELD ON CHARGE OF
BLOCKING RAIL TRAFFIC
Local police continue to frown
upon the habits of some of the
citizens of Independence who use
the Missouri Pacific Railroad
tracks, near the light plant for a
dormitory. Shortly after 3 o'clock
Wednesday afternoon a train was
brought to a stop to keep from
decapitating Perry Kittle, 46 years
old, 115 East Walnut Street; and
Dave Thompson of no particular
address.
Upon call of the trainmen police
officers took both into custody and
have charged them with blocking
traffic on the railroad, which is
tantamount to interfering with
inter-state commerce. When they
were arraigned before Justice
Thomas H. Knight today, both
plead "not guilty," and were sent
to the county jail to await hear-
ing in this local court, when it
was found that they could not post
bonds in the amount of $800 each.
