THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON January 21, 1950 Dear Hinie: I appreciated very much yours of the nineteenth about the site for the new Post Office. I thought the corner south of the present building had been agreed on. Of course, I don't want to get into any controversy over the Post Office site but when you asked me if I would approve that site I told you I most certainly would, and if it comes up for my approval I most certainly will approve it. I appreciated what you said about the election in Independence and hope that things turn out so we can do something about it to save the Democratic ticket. Sincerely yours, Harry Honorable Edgar G. Hinde Postmaster United States Post Office Independence, Missouri
