Source Description

This letter refers to former soldiers of Battery D, part of the 129th Field Artillery, 35th Division, during World War I. Harry S. Truman served as Captain of Battery D during World War I, and every year, he and his fellow former soldiers held a reunion dinner. In 1921, the dinner took place at the Elks Lodge in Kansas City, Missouri. The handwriting in the lower left corner regarding the check number is Harry S. Truman's.
